The life of Abraham seems to be a series of tests, the Mishnah in Avot says: “With ten tests our father Abraham was tested, and he withstood them all". The purpose of a test is not to examine the faith of the person being tested, but rather to see if the test itself could raise the person to grow beyond his or her natural ability. The test offers an opportunity for the person to achieve the impossible and to grow into something greater than his normal nature.
The test of Abraham allowed him to break out of his own personality constraints and traits and become something he never thought was possible for him. Abraham’s test represents the story of each and every one of us. Every moment in this world means a test for the soul. This test that we go through demonstrates one's faith in G-d. The test aims to see how strong the connection to G‑d is. Whether the soul remains true to itself in the face of tremendous challenge: To turn the spiritual darkness of this world and transform it into light by observing the 7 Noahide laws. One can achieve exponential spiritual growth and the ultimate bond with G‑d by living in accordance with G-d's will.
This is a powerful lesson, when facing challenges, we must keep in mind the presence of Hashem and that this is actually a display of expectation on G‑d's part, and then the test will vanish.
